Know Your Customer (KYC) refers to the process of verifying the identity of your customers, either before or during the time that they start doing business with you. The term “KYC” also references the regulated customer identity verification practices to assess and monitor customer information. In the digital world, digital identities are used to represent physical identities. Without a verified digital identity or credential, there would be no way of ascertaining whether a digital entity is who or what it claimed to be for various services around us. The benefits of digital identity help government entities, businesses and individuals achieve more with efficiency, speed, cost and above all empowers the identity holders, the sole owner of its data.

The major objective of Thegana ID (tID) is to provide a verified digital identity for all of Nepal and put control of your personal data back into your hands rather than being in the hands of industry or other entities. Thegana ID is also an authentication system which is secured by design, and eliminates the need to remember or use of user credentials. To bring this innovative solution into the market, ISPL has partnered with Thegana Services and jointly have been working with Nepal Telecom for eKYC project while there are growing interest from the BFIs.
